Bloated Toe Publishing was established in 2004 as the exclusive publisher of books by award-winning author Lawrence P. Gooley. We have since published several books, both for Mr. Gooley and other area authors. This experience has shown us how difficult it is for area authors and artists to promote their work.
To help in promoting the immense talent in our region, we opened our North Country Store in 2007. Our store now carries over 400 products by North Country and Adirondack authors, artists, and artisans.
Now we've taken another step to increase public awareness of the fantastic works by authors right here in the North Country. We have organized the North Country Authors (NCA), consisting of several authors from northeastern New York and northwestern Vermont. Some are better known than others, but we all have some things in common—a love for writing and a love for the North Country, its history, and its people.
